Visitors with

Audio/Visual Impairments

The Museum is equipped with captioning on all videos shown throughout the galleries. In addition, we have partnered with AIRA - a visual interpreting service that grants those with visual impairments access to a live interpreter with the help of their smartphone/tablet.

If you have any questions or concerns, please give the Museum a call at (814)452-2744.

Visitors with

Mobility Impairments

The Maritime Museum offers all guests ease of access for all individuals and is equipped with ramps, an elevator, and wide pathways, allowing wheelchair use throughout the interior galleries. Seating is also provided throughout the Museum if patrons need a moment to rest.

PLEASE NOTE: The Brig Niagara, due to the ship’s construction, is not an accessible vessel. In order to get aboard, all visitors must maneuver up a steep “gangway” and down ladders. If you have any questions or concerns, please give the Museum a call at (814)452-2744.
